Serbia rejects independence proposal and accuses it of violating human rights

The Serbs on Monday signed an agreement with Kosovo to accept the independence of Kosovo and to become an independent state.

Kosovo’s parliament had approved independence days earlier, but the cou바카라ntry’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci, have not yet signed the deal.

Hussein Katatbi, director of the International Crisis Group, said after the signing, “The fact that there were still serious talks in front of the Serbian President does not mean that it was a dead letter.”

“It suggests that Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, in a very personal manner, may be preparing to send Serbs an ultimatum which he believes could be used by his Serbs to extract a concession on the separation of Kosovo from Serbia. If Serbs choose to accept it then a new round of the secessionist struggle, based on ethnic and religious grievances is on its way,” he said.

The United Nations Human Rights Council is due to debate 카지노 사이트Kosovo’s independence in New York in September.

A referendum, scheduled for November 1 and planned for November 6, is being held in a number of Serbian provinces. Kosovo’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of independence on Nov. 1, citing the constitutional guarantees.

A second referendum, to be held on Dec. 30, is scheduled for 2016.

A referendum is not legally binding but is a key step toward Serbia’s independence because most Serbs believe independence for Kosovo must come before a political solution can be reached with Prime Minister Hashim Thaci더킹카지노.

The UN has urged Serbia to use all diplomatic and economic measures to allow the referendum to proceed.

The United Nations said on Nov. 29 that the Serbs were still far from holding a referendum on Kosovo’s independence and “do not appear to have reached any firm peace agreement”. The US State Department said it expected a result from the vote.

A joint resolution in the U.N. Security Council condemned Kosovo’s separation from Serbia and called on all parties “to use all available instruments of the international system” and “not resort to the use of force in violation of international law”.
